About this tire
The Deestone D-401 is a tri-rib front tire in the 5.50-16 size, built to the F-2 tread pattern that runs on the steer axle of compact and utility tractors. The three center ribs track straight in a field and resist the wandering you get from a worn front tire. If you're replacing the fronts on a small tractor or farm rig, this is the standard fit.
This is a 6-ply tire rated load range C, good for 1,050 lbs at the rated pressure. If your current front is a 2, 4, or 6 ply in this size, the 6 ply works as a direct replacement and gives you more carcass strength than a lighter 4 ply. Overall diameter is 28.1 inches, section width is 5.9 inches, and tread depth is 18/32. It mounts on a 16x4 rim.
One thing to know up front: this is a tube-type tire, and the matching inner tube is included with this purchase. It's a rib tire made for steering and field use, not a traction or drive tire, so don't expect it to pull on the rear. Deestone is a value brand, so you're paying less than a premium name for a tire that does the steer-axle job.
